London Living with an Alternative Twist!

Slam Dunk Festival, Hertfordshire.

Admittedly this was quite some time ago, back in May, but is definitely worth a mention!

The venue for Slam Dunk Festival 2012 was the University of Hertfordshire, which for a university, was rather state of the art with air conditioned stage.  These were received so well by the hundred of sweaty alternative kids that were there to support one of the best line ups around.

I personally went to see I See Stars, Of Mice and Men, The Word Alive, Funeral for a Friend, Taking Back Sunday, Forever the Sickest Kids, Motion City Soundtrack, and The Blackout.  Each of which out on a great show, and really got the crowds involved.  I’m a huge fan of FFAF and TBS so it was amazing to finally see them live.  TBS made this epic event even better by covering one of my favourite songs, ‘Existentialism On Prom Night’ by ‘Straylight Run’.

The after party sadly had a huge queue to get into, and was a little too commercial for my liking so we gave that a miss after an hour or so.  We got a really good value Travelodge room and the transport to and from London was real easy to use.

If you’re into post hardcore music then I’d recommend you keep your eyes peeled for this festival next year!
