London Living with an Alternative Twist!

Smith’s Brasserise, Wapping.

Friday saw Mumma Bear celebrating her birthday, and of course we like to do it in style, she bloody well deserves it! We went to Smith’s Brasserie in Wapping which was stunning!

The service was second to none, and if you’re lucky enough to book a window seat, which we were, the views over look Tower Bridge and The Shard.  With the weather being bright and sunny we were able to see the sight both in the light and watch all the lights of the London skyline gradually come to life.

All four of us had something different for both start and main course.  Smith’s is known for its fish so to start we had Calamari, Prawn Cocktail, Crab and Fish soup, and all plates were left sparking clean! I have to stay I’ve never had so many prawns in one prawn cocktail, and the partner in crimes Calamari was piled sky high!  They certainly don’t skimp on portion sizes here.

For main course most of us stuck to the fish route apart from the partner in crime who had lamb which looked incredible!  I had fish cakes with sweet chili sauce, and a portion of hand cut chips, although with the size of the fish cakes I really didn’t need the chips! The parents had skate and halibut and both cleared their plates so no complaints there!

Three of us were all too full up to squeeze in a desert, but the birthday girl, as always, had room!  Lucky she did really as  they brought her out the cutest birthday message!

Overall we had a great meal, all four of us greatly enjoyed our food and left as very happy customers!
