Claudia’s Guest Post

Everyday Make-up

Hey everyone, I’m Claudia and I write the blog, Beauty and the Chic. I was very excited when Haydn asked me to do a guest post for you and since I mainly blog about Beauty products, I thought I’d share my current everyday favourite make-up products. I have my phases of loving certain things and then start getting bored and then I change again but the majority of these have always been well loved.

For my everyday base I’ve really been enjoying the DiorSkin Nude BB Cream which is a fairly new product, I’ve only been using it about 6 weeks but it’s seriously incredible. I’ve never understood the BB, CC and soon to be DD fad, to me they are just glorified tinted moisturisers however this one just works really well. It gives a light but flawless finish and stays put all day, even throughout the heat. A perfect base if you love the “no make-up make-up” look and evens out your skin tone leaving a lovely dewy finish. Lurrrvly.

Continuing with the base products, my life isn’t complete unless I’ve used MAC’s Select Cover-up concealer, it’s the best concealer I’ve ever used, covers blemishes and dark circles perfectly without a hint of a crease, every girl needs one of these in their everyday routine. It also lasts forever so if the price tag is putting you off, don’t worry your pretty little mind because it will last a good 6-9 months, if not longer.

Finally, I have been skipping powder over the Summer months however come September I will be using my most loved powder again which is MAC’s Mineralize Skinfinish Natural powder. This product is great as you only need a light dusting over the face, or to preferred areas, and you’re good to go. No need to worry about looking cakey with this bad boy. Because it’s such a light powder it will last you for ages, I swear mine lasts me about a year each time, yes I like to be a bit tight on the ole’ purse strings sometimes, just means I can buy something else.

For blush I don’t even know where to start as I am such a crazy blusher hoarder I actually don’t have a favourite colour, however I do have a favourite brand…yes MAC. I have a palette that I put together for my professional brush kit when I started freelancing (but have now given up) and I only used one colour so the others went untouched and so of course, it made sense to add it to my crazy collection. Favourite colours at the moment, Fleur Powder a peachy coral (top right) and Well Dressed, a light dusty pink (bottom in the middle.) The blushers last forever and are so pigmented and pretty, I can’t get enough of them.

For lips I love a good lipbalm, I hardly ever wear lipstick unless I’m going out or it’s a special occasion so a tinted lipbalm tickles my fancy for most occasions. I have tones and the obvious choice would be a Revlon Lip Butter, however since the Maybelline Babylips were finally released over here, it’s safe to say they are well and truly wedged into my heart now. Cherry Me is pictured above and leaves a pretty pink colour on the lips whilst also keeping them very moisturised all throughout the day. They are also very reasonably priced at £2.99 each.

To tame my sometimes unruly eyebrow hairs, I use Natural Collection’s Clear Mascara. Don’t faff around with these fancy eyebrow gels, clear mascara does the trick perfectly and for £1.99 it’s a bargain you really can’t pass up. I’ve used this everyday for about four years now, obsessed? Just a little…

Finally mascara is another thing I hoard insane amounts of however I have chosen MAC’s Zoom Waterfast Lash mascara a lot over the past few months. It’s waterproof so it lasts through pretty much anything and it creates the most beautiful fluttery lashes without any clumping at all. A cheaper alternative that I adore are any Maybelline mascaras, I personally think they have the best drug-store mascaras out there and I have three different ones waiting to be tried and tested, I’ll keep you posted.

So lovelies, there’s my favourite everyday make-up bits for you and I hope you enjoyed reading this, if you did feel free to pop over and say “Hi” on my blog at would love to hear from you! Thanks again for letting me guest post!

Lots of love,

Claudia xxx
