London Living with an Alternative Twist!

Our Week Away.

So at the start of September the partner in crime and I had a week off work to do some fun filled things!  Here’s a little summary of what we got up to…

This was a really great day to start my week off with! After getting over my hangover from the Butler’s Wharf Blackout Event I headed over to Hopesfield Animal Sanctuary with a friend to see the amazing work they do.  I literally can’t wait to go back there.  The animals were all so friendly, they all wanted to be stroked and cuddled!! Plus the red velvet homemade cake was out of this world!  Later that night, I had a photoshoot with Nick Williams, a very talented photographer, and no the pictures weren’t of me; they were of my car!! I will do a post dedicated to those images as they are beyond words!

We had the most beautiful wedding to attend today, you’ve all seen the outfit! This wedding was just lovely, so much of it was homemade and I can’t get over how incredible it looked!  We danced the night away to great music and had some amazing food!

Monday was a lovely trip to Warwick Castle.  We had a great historical filled day, and learnt so much.  We also climbed all 530 stairs of the Towers, I thought it was meant to be a chilled week off!!  We did the Merlin Tower experience too, which is in collaboration with  BBC’s Merlin, that was great fun and had me jumping out of my skin! I’m such a scaredy cat!  I would definitely go back to see the jousting etc.

Oh my, Tuesday was our first day at Chessington, and yes I queued to meet the Penguins of Madagascar! We did a really good chunk of all of the rides as there were minimal queues, I love theme parks during the week!  The food was really good value, we had Old El Paso Fajitas and I didn’t want them to end! We had a quick wander around the zoo and headed to book into our hotel.  We stayed at Days Inn, Cobham where the staff were so nice! We had dinner in Strada a short drive away which was lovely!

On Wednesday I took my Canon 60D Digital SLR into Chessington to take some better photos that I can on my iPhone, just look at how cute those baby Gorillas are!  They spent ages playing and just being so adorable!

We did the Zufari ride and got trapped on route behind a very stubborn giraffe which was rather funny! We had a lovely afternoon in Painshill Park, which is such a beautiful area to walk around.  It’s filled with history, and was a good four mile walk.  We got lost so many times, as normal!

Thursday:

Up early, checked out of the hotel and filled with breakfast we ventured over to Legoland. This was super fun! Can you spot me in the photograph above?!   We did a fun scavenger hunt around the park, but were sadly too grown up to get drivers licences there now! The food again was really great, having a Merlin Pass means we get 20% off  it all!

Friday:

Friday was all about chilling at home, I did have a personal training session at the gym which was hell after a week off!! I sorted out lots of items of clothing for a Boot Sale I was due to do on Saturday.   Mid afternoon we went for Harvester with the In Laws which was really good, I really shouldn’t have eaten that HUGE ice ream sundae! We went home and watched films, cooked a lovely light meal and just enjoyed having some time to ourselves!  We did get a visit from our friend with his new car that was lovely!

Saturday:

Back to the gym for my diet weigh in… Broke even! Phew! I thought I’d be a few pounds heavier after a lot of eating out!   Sadly my boto sale was cancelled due the insane amounts of rain, but some of my aunts and cousins came over and had a rummage in my boxes.  All proceeds are going to Cancer Research and that day alone I raised £23!  In the evening we had some friends over for a take away and a catch up which was really nice! The puppies loved the attention!

Sunday:

Back to the gym again! I needed to get myself back in gear, and I took my partner in crime along with me for the fun!  We made the most amazing hamburgers with chilli, cheese and bacon! I impressed myself!! I spent the day making packed lunches,  dying my hair bright red, doing the ironing and watching Hanniball, it’s so addictive!

Such an amazing week!
