London Living with an Alternative Twist!

Reading Festival: The Lowdown, Part Two!

Continuing on from last weeks part one, here are the low downs on the bands we saw at Reading Festival:

The Blackout: These lads always put on a great show, despite Sean’s microphone stopping working, he still powered through and my love for these grew stronger!

The 1975: I saw these twice and both times they were amazing! Certainly a band to be watching! Roll on 20th September to go see them again!!

Modestep:  After 2 attempts we finally got to see these live! They were so good, but the crowd ruined it for me; too many drunk lads trying to ‘mosh’ and just getting violent! I will be getting tickets just to see them so I can enjoy it this time!

Flux Pavilion: Such a great set! We were outside the tent as it was so packed and we were still dancing and having a great time!

Chase & Status: Oh my! These get better every time I see them! They brought out the acts that sing on their tracks, and had such an awesome stage set up! Thinking of getting tickets to their tour!!

Eminem:  I was actually really disappointed 🙁 He was 15 minutes late, and was singing over the track so a lot of the time he was just wandering around!  He did bring out some great acts, and the best bit was Dido coming out for Stan.

Bury Tomorrow:  I can’t put into words my love for this band!  They are some of the nicest lads ever! I always miss their UK Tours as London is always dads birthday so I was so so so happy to see them again at Reading!

Haim:  I am a huge Haim fan, but felt this set was slightly lacking. Their vocals weren’t as good as I had hoped they’d be and they were really quite odd to watch!  Someone sack their stylist pronto!

Fall Out Boy: My 9th time seeing FOB and they just get better and better!! I just wish the crowd around me were into them more, I knew every song where as many only knew their newest single. Shame!

Disclosure:  These two pulled out all the stops!! Such a great set, bringing out Alluna Francis and Ed MacFarlane to entertain the crowd.  Even my dad enjoyed them on the TV Highlights!

Funeral for a Friend:  I got to experience these lovely Welsh lads on the barrier! I have loved this band for a good 6 or so years now, and every show they put on gets better!  The crowd certainly loved this set! My voice was a little hoarse after!

Imagine Dragons: We wandered past the tent as these were playing and stopped for a little listen, and were pleased with what we heard.  Can’t wait to hear more of them.

ALT – J:  For a big ALT-J fan these sounded so boring from outside the tent!! I was shocked!! Dad backed this up with saying that watching them bored him on TV!!

Biffy Clyro: As were were leaving on the Sunday night we could hear Biffy and they sounded amazing as usual!

Where you there? Who was your favourite act?
