London, Food and Travel with an Alternative Twist!

Lasan, Birmingham.

WOW. Lasan was incredible, no wonder it won both Gordon Ramsay’s F Word and BBC’s Great British Menu.  THe food was Indian with a twist!  It’s not your stodgy curries that leave you regretting your dinner choice for days, it’s classy!


For starter we went with the sharing platter to try a little of everything which included lamp chops, chicken and even salmon.


My main course was the Dopiaza Murgh which consisted of free range Cotswold white chicken cooked two ways, slow braised leg and roasted supreme marinated in chilli and pomegranate seed served with caramelised shallots, wilted onion shoots and a classic Kolkata style dopiaza gravy.


My partner in crime has the Elaichi Beef which was naturally reared Hereford beef from Stokemarsh Farm, blade braised overnight, marinated sirloin, bone marrow pakora and tandoori sweetbread served with black cardamon scented cashew nut gravy.

Out of this world!  And the service was impeccable too!
