London Living with an Alternative Twist!

Oh 2014.

This year has seen a lot of changes in my life, and I’m not one to usually post feelings and personal thoughts on my blog but I feel that this year needs closure and I’m up for sharing!

2014

I’ve had a crazy time with jobs; four in a year to be exact. I fell out of love with what I thought was my dream job at the start of the year and jumped at the chance of moving when I got offered a new opportunity. This new opportunity didn’t quite work out as planned so I moved within the new company to be a journalist, I was over the moon! Using my degree on a daily basis made me so happy to go to work but the novelty soon wore off and I found myself hungry for a new challenge. So on to my fourth job of the year; the best of them by far. A lot of you will know Joe Blogs Network and becoming part of their team was probably the highlight of my year! I have the most amazing team I could ask for. The banter we have is awesome and the way they’re always there for you is even better! I can’t deny that the bacon sandwiches and beer o’clock on Friday don’t go a miss too!

travel-the-world

I’ve travelled to some amazing places and it’s made my thirst for travel even worse! Seeing Berlin in January has made me want to see more of Germany and Europe, the temptation of touring via train is getting all too much! And going back to America has made my want to live there come flooding back! I can’t forget my week on Brownsea Island either, England is pretty damn amazing too!

I’ve made friends, lost friends and gained a few I’d thought I’d lost back again! I’ve had highs and lows this year and to know I have a group I can rely on all the time is what every girl needs! I even met the lovely ladies that I want as my bridesmaids this year! They filled a gap I never knew I had, a want for a group of girl mates! I’ve now got my Prosecco and Pizza buddies and I’m so glad they came into my life!   I even met over 30 of my Sharkie online friends at a crazy event I hosted in London. For those of you who don’t know about being a Sharkie, you need to check out Black Milk Clothing and the amazing online community they have!

LM-2015
I’ve gained a London Marathon place for a charity I feel so strongly about and have had support from so many people to help me fundraise. My family have been at every event I’ve organised and have been a driving force behind it all. I can’t put into words how amazing they all are.

change
Lastly this year saw the end of a three year relationship with my partner in crime. We’ve kept it all very private and we plan to keep it that way. That was the biggest change this year and I felt you readers needed to know that it had come to end but didn’t know how to put it as he was often featured on here. We had an amazing three years and I wouldn’t change any of it if I had to do it over again.

So onward and upwards into 2015; I’m saving to buy my first place and on a mission to lose at least 2 stone so this will be a huge task for me!

I wanted to thank everyone that support and event I’ve done this year, whether it was a blog event or a fundraising one.

I’ve waffled far more than I planned to, and in short I can’t wait to see what 2015 throws at me!

  1. All in all it sounds like you had a pretty eventful year, but it’s all ended on a positive note! All the best for 2015 – I’m sure it will be wonderful 🙂

    Happy 2015 lovely!

I love the positive spin you have put on your split – most of us could learn a lesson from that. I had a 3 year relationship with someone and we split when I was 21. We lived together and I always thought he was the one who had got away and I HATED him for what he did. But now I realise we had some great times together and we’re even good friends now and I don’t regret it at all.

Good luck for the marathon – I’ll see you at the start line 😉 Let me know if you fancy any long runs!
