Adventurous Ideas For Your Bucket List

Lots of us have bucket lists. I’ve got my 30 before 30 list. Last year saw me whizz through lots of the items on the list, and I now have only a few left to cross off. This got me thinking about what to do next. Do I want a 40 before 40? And would I be more daring with the things that might go on there? Would my priorities change in life when I’m in my thirties? Perhaps they will influence what goes on the list.

I was thinking about the drifting lessons that the Chap arranged for me for my recent birthday weekend. I loved it so much. It was a truly inspired gift idea. But it’s quite an extreme activity to do, and certainly not something you could do every day in life. It made me realise that life should include a few of this kind of adventurous activities each year. And perhaps those are the things I should put on my next bucket list.

I’m not sure I would jump out of a plane, but I can completely understand why parachuting is on so many people’s bucket lists. The adrenaline from the drifting was awesome, but I bet it doesn’t begin to compare to what you feel when you’re falling through the sky. I’m not sure I would put bungee jumping on the list either. There’s not a lot of opportunity for that where I live!

I’m pretty sure if I had some scuba diving lessons that I would love to see exotic sea creatures and even old shipwrecks. I know that this kind of activity is pretty hard work, and there’s no way you can get into it without the lessons. It could be a lot of fun, though. I’m not sure I’m brave enough to swim with sharks, but I’d love to have a look at some coral.

I enjoyed my driving experience so much I think I might enjoy another one. Driving around a famous race track or a high powered sports car might go on my bucket list. I like the idea of going at full speed while I’m behind the wheel. I might even try some rally driving. Pushing a car to its limits through the wildest terrain could be a lot of fun. Maybe dune buggy racing will go on the list!

I’ve succeeded in losing weight and getting fitter. I still have some marathon dreams on my 30 before 30 list. But I think it might be fun to try a boot camp. I’m not sure I will want to do it twice, but it could be a good thing to do just once. I know that as I get older, my body won’t be as fast or quick to overcome physical challenges. However, a boot camp is a great way to gauge your fitness and improve it.

By the time I’ve ticked off my 30 before 30 list, I may not be in the mood to start a new one. But there are plenty of things that I think I would like to achieve or experience in the next ten years or so. What’s on your list?
