At the strike of midnight we see the start of yet another year that will zoom past at lightening speed, but before we let that happen, I’m going to do a little summary of the year that I’ve had. I’ve never had a year so busy, but here goes…
The highlight of January for me was the 10 days we spent in Shropshire at The Barn chilling out, spending time together and making Vinyl Clocks! As we do every Jan we celebrated Mike’s birthday, I had Laser Eye Surgery, hit 5,000 followers on Twitter, and our parents met for the first time!
February saw us having a lovely couples night in, a review of the Hippodrome, me becoming very irate with Nando’s, a super date night at Smith’s of Wapping, we nailed making Sunday roasts, and we spent time with friends. Plus there were 5 gigs; Bring Me the Horizon, The Used (self-titled album in full), The Used (In Love and Death album in full), City & Colour and finishing with Enter Shikari!
MarchSo March seemed to be filled with food from the Nag’s Head, my favourite chicken stir-fry, and homemade Green Thai Curry. We saw Simple Plan, I worked on a PR stunt with Currys PC World, visited the Museum of London for Crime Museum Uncovered & Tattoo London and finished up with sharing my BioScore results.
April was a crazy busy month with a wedding in Ireland, a long weekend in Copenhagen, I shared a flat tour, celebrated National Pet Month, attended the Proud Wonderland launch, and I shared how my hair has changed over the years.
In May I had my hair died blue, we saw Funeral for a Friend perform twice, I announced some exciting news, had a super cool afternoon tea experience, a cheeky midweek date night that involved Gondola’s in the rain in London, and my first half of the Megabus Blogger Swap happened.
We spent a week of June at Glastonbury, I complete the second half of the Megabus Blogger Swap and made a video, we upgraded our camera kit, we went on a lovely day out to Kew Gardens, I ate burgers, and I shared tips on how to make the most out of 24hrs in Blackpool.
We spent the first weekend in Manchester and well loved it! I also left my job and shared some blogging tips, I went to Marbella for a hen do, and shared my top 5 afternoon teas and rooftop bars. Towards the end of the month, I started my new job!
We started the month with a date day, we went to a wedding, and another wedding, and we went to the launch party for KERB. We also spent the weekend in Oxford where we did some Go Ape, hired a Car and stayed with the lovely Mercure team.
We spent the first weekend of September in Margate, and I shared my favourite outfit, I also shared a smile with Getting Personal, and started my own Scrapbook. We had lots of great events including #AsicsSecretGig, the iTunes festival, dinner at Mango Tree, lunch at Herman Ze German, and I found my new favourite at The Chophouse.
October was a slightly quieter month, but we still had lunch at Turtle Bay, took my best friend to his first blogging event with EatFirst, dined with Fullers Kitchen at the Sail Loft, I made cocktails, had a lot of meaty goodness at Soho Joe’s, and we gave ourselves a night off!
I also hosted my most successful charity event to date.
In November we went to Whitstable for Dad’s 60th, I spent 24hrs in Copenhagen and we also went to Lyon for a long weekend. We dined at The Diner, took in the Winter Sun, ate at Yuu Kitchen and Chi Kitchen. We also had a lovely evening at the new Ibis Styles at Heathrow. Mike also treated me to tickets to Simply Red play their Stars album in full which was such an icredible night out.
December has been crazzzzyyyy!! We made cocktails here, here and here! I baked here and here! We ate at Mango Tree, King William IV, and I got crafty with John Lewis. I tried out the awesome BYOC East, and we had a well deserved night in. We also saw The Cure on their 40 years tour and Placebo on their 20 year tour.
And to top it all off I turned 27 and spent the weekend celebrating with bottomless brunch, ice skating and a night tour of London with Mike and lots of family time too!
How was your 2016?
