London Living with an Alternative Twist!

Turning 27!

So today is my 27th birthday… I’m really on my way to being a full-blown adult, but not quite!

As a celebration, I’ve looked back at my year of being 26 and listed (just love a list!) all the things that I have learnt or achieved this year, so here it is!

I learnt how to poach an egg! I’m not an egg eater but Mike is so I challenged myself and got is sussed!

I mastered making macaroons, and learnt that they are so bloody hard to make but well worth the effort!

Getting a job in a new sector was a big achievement this year. It’s really upped my game and I love it.

Raising over £1,000 in one night for my London Marathon was probably my biggest achievement this year. The event took a lot of organising but it all paid off.

I’ve blogged almost every day for over eighteen months, and whilst it’s a lot of hard work, it’s upped all of my social numbers and views.

On that topic, I have more than doubled my Twitter following this year.

And doubled my Instagram following too!

And double my Facebook likes too!

I worked with brands I never thought would approach me to do so such as Expedia, John Lewis, Jaguar and Audi.

I saved far more than what I thought I would, hitting my first two targets of our house fund, and am well on my way to hitting my third target early next year.

I started running again and can now run a full 5 miles without stopping, which was my first big Marathon training milestone.

Survived living with Mike for over a year now!

People really aren’t who they make out to be! This may not come as a shock to many of you, but this year I’ve really learnt who my true friends are and I feel so much better for it. I have zero time for toxic, time wasting friendships!

Hit my target of seeing 12 band play at 12 different gigs.

Visited 12 different places which was another target I wanted to hit too.

We hit 3,000 views on our Nightmare Before Christmas Tree video on YouTube.

Helped plan a successful pub quiz, lunch and raffle for the Charity team at work.

We got over 1,500 views in 48 hours on our Stop Motion video.

I planned a fun, successful surprise weekend away for my Dad’s 60th Birthday.

I learnt how to cook a steak. Simple for some but Mike and I have them very different and I’ve totally nailed both of them now!

I crossed off attending Glastonbury on my 30 before 30 list. It really was one of the best events I’ve ever been to.

What are you proud of achieving this year?
