London Living with an Alternative Twist!

Paper Cutting with Twenty Fingers *

If you know me in real life, or simply read my blog quite frequently then you’ll know I’m a total sucker for personalised goods! You just have to take one step into our flat to see M & H key holders and as you close the front door there’s a novel penguin selfie with Haydy & Mike in. There are so many pieces of art and quirky items we’ve picked up that are so us that when Twenty Fingers got in touch about designing and make me a personalised paper cut out I knew this was perfect for us.

Twenty Fingers are a family run business created by a husband and wife duo with a passion to design and photography. They are based in Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire and love to spend their time making bespoke, handmade gifts that are a pleasure for people to give. All of their personalised gifts are made with love, care and attention right here in the UK.

I thought long and hard about what I wanted in our frame; did I want our names and the date we became official, did I want lyrics to a song that meant something to us, but then it hit me. I wanted my favourite quote and that would sit perfectly on the shelf in my nautical themed bathroom. The quote is something that I’ve been toying with having tattooed on my upper thigh (sorry mum!) and even had my first ever Tumblr blog called it when I used to just repost emo song lyrics in my late teens. My family have some nautical roots and I often wonder if that’s why I’m so drawn to it.

“Be the One to Guide Me, but Never Hold Me Down.”

I love the wording, the meaning and the way I interpret it. I feel like this really reflects the relationship Mike and I have too; he lends me a shoulder to cry on, he offers me advice, but he never stops me from doing what I believe is right, he never stops my sparkle and certainly never holds me back from achieving my goals.

So when the paper cut out arrived, complete with matching font from my blog logo you can imagine how happy I was. They had even matched the darker blue to keep in theme with my blog too which I love so much. For me, it’s all about the attention to detail.

It has pride of place on my middle shelf in the big bathroom as that’s nautical themed and it’ll get seen whenever guests use our loo! Gives them something to read I guess!

The paper cut came in the hand made wooden frame so that it’s suspended in the glass and there was a choice of wood colours but the lighter wood matches part of the bathroom so I like to keep it all the same! You know I’m a sucker for matching!

The product is of a really high quality and I’m thinking that they could be great wedding gifts for friends as you can get names and dates made too. In face there’s a whole host of incredible cuttings you you get made so I suggest you go and check them out!
