Perfect Brownies with Nutkins Bakery *

Nutkins Bakery is a new online gift-box brownie service, which launched just over a week ago, and my god, I can’t tell you how good they are!

The lovely team from behind Nutkin’s Bakery think they’re much tastier, and a little bit different, than a bunch of flowers – I totally agree, I mean flowers will die, but brownies are great for taking some time out with a cup of tea at the end of a long day so they’re pretty much good for your health right?

And talking of the lovely team, Nutkin’s Bakery is a one (wo)man band! Harriet quit her day job in the city and launched this very business after finally perfecting her brownie recipe.

They are currently baking five flavours of brownies; Original choc, Double choc-a-block, Choc orange, Caramel and Marshmallow. They also do slabs of Rocky Road. I went for the caramel brownies and had them delivered to my new office. Let’s just say, it made my first week a lot easier and I’m still in their good books. In fact, they were so good I didn’t have any left to take home to share with Mike, so I think I’m going to have to order some more! It’s also recommended heating one up and serving it with a scoop of vanilla ice-cream which I didn’t get chance to do!

The brownies actually had gooey slithers of caramel running through them which was a pleasant surprise as I just expected them to taste of caramel. A big thumbs-up there from me. They turned up in the cutest packaging too and the brownies were fully intact.

In the future Nutkin’s Barkery will be launching seasonal varieties, you know quirky ideas like the mince pie chocolate brownie, as well as charity collaborations. The brownies have a shelf life of 10 days and can be frozen for up to three months. You can add a personalised gift card to any order for no additional fee, which I did last week for Penny’s birthday, she was dead chuffed! The brownies can be delivered anywhere in the UK.

And you know what tops it all off for me; the fact that they’re made in Brentwood, in Essex, so by eating brownies I’m helping a local business! Such a win win situation.

If you want to try your own then head over to the site, and use SQUIBBVBROWNIE to receive 15% off before the end of the month!
