Bucket List Ideas for the New Year *

As soon as the new year arrives, you suddenly get this rush of adrenaline thinking of all the things you want to accomplish this year. It doesn’t matter what you achieved last year or what you didn’t manage to do, this is a new year and it’s the perfect time to set yourself some goals and have something to work towards.

Bucket lists, or lists like my 30 before 30, are one of the most popular features of the new year, as unlike new years resolutions, bucket lists are full of things you really want to do and achieve, which makes it so much easier to do. If you’re thinking of creating your own bucket list for the year, here are a few ideas on what you could include!

Train for a Marathon

For many people, running a marathon is a huge goal that they want to achieve one day, and with so many great programmes available, there’s never been a better time to train for one. Seriously, if I can do it, then anyone else can! Training for a marathon is all about consistency and determination, which is the perfect way to keep yourself healthy and fit, with a positive attitude. Whilst you may not be able to run an actual marathon this year, there’s nothing stopping you from training and building up your strength and ability to one day reach your goal. Whether you decide to train in the gym, or you do it by foot around your local neighbourhood, you’ll instantly notice yourself feeling positive and motivated.

Support a Charity

There are lots of ways in which you can help charities throughout the year, so it doesn’t matter how much time you have left over at the end of the day. Many people fail to get involved with charity work because they feel you need to have plenty of time each week to contribute and help. Whilst volunteering is a great way to get stuck in with charity work, you’ll
also find that monthly donations to a charity that means something to you can really help them too. Every little helps when it comes to charities, and choosing one that means something to you will ensure you feel positive about what you’re donating to. This year I’ve signed up to support Dog’s Trust by sponsoring Mike! Local charities are always a really good option, as you often find that they receive less support due to the larger charities opening up shops and knocking on doors.

Travel in a Camper

Going on holiday is always one of the main things you look forward to each year, especially when you’re jetting off to a sunnier climate. This year, however, why not plan an exciting road trip in a campervan. There’s nothing quite like hitting the open road and experiencing some breathtaking views that you just wouldn’t see on a standard package holiday. With so
many trusted websites offering high-quality campervans to hire, with stunning VW t5 campervan interiors, you can find the perfect style to suit your requirements. The beauty of going travelling in a camper is that you have the option to do things the way you want them to, whether that’s going to the beach first thing in the morning to watch the sunrise or
heading halfway up a mountain to watch it set. The world is your oyster and this is a fantastic thing to tick off your bucket list!

Do Something Scary

Everyone is different, which is what makes the particular bucket list option even more exciting. For one person, visiting a zoo and holding a huge snake may be the scariest thing the world, whereas another person may find that heights are something they really can’t handle. You know what scares you, and it’s time to push yourself and face your fears. Think about something you’d love to do but have always put off because you’re scared, and put it on your bucket list. By doing something that scares you, you’ll feel extremely proud and hopefully conquer a fear, which will make things much easier for you in the future!
