Where to Eat and Drink on a Trip to Leeds *

I spent last weekend up in Leeds with some of my favourite ladies, and again, all we did was eat! There are some really great places to both eat and drink in Leeds which I was so not prepared for or I might have booked a hotel with a gym in! Here’s a little round up of where we ate and drunk and if you’re in the area I suggest you check at least one of these out!

Trinity Kitchen

Trinity Kitchen is housed with the Trinity shopping centre, and is like an indoor foodie market. It’s literally what my local shopping centre is missing as it’s not a food court by any means, it’s rotates six new street food vans every eight weeks and allows visitors like me to experience various flavours and cuisines under one roof. It was dreamy! So I ate at The Luxury Diner, aka Slap and Pickles, and it was so good! I went in for the England fries made up of some of the best chips I’ve ever had topped with cheese, gravy, bacon, and salt and vinegar crisps and I loved every mouthful!

We also had a drink on Friday and watched the Football on Saturday in Trinity Kitchen with Liquor Labs having 2 for 1 on all cocktails so it was a win with us! As we were also sat in the Fanzone the lovely people from Trinity gave us a free beer every time England scored, so we had a great afternoon!

Pieminister

I love a good pie and Pieminister never let us down with that! They have an awesome offer on at the moment which is a pie, a side and a sundae for £10; total bargain there! I’d highly recommend the Matador filled with British beef steak, chorizo, olives and butter beans as it is so tasty and filled to the brim! I hade the cheesy mash as I’m a firm believer that all mash should come with mountains of cheese and for sundae I had the Strawberry Blonde which was light, fluffy and not too filling as I was pretty darn full after my pie!

15-17 Duncan St, Leeds LS1 6DQ

Malmaison

I’m not usually a beef Sunday dinner kinda gal, but this was beyond words!  We lucked out with a Living Social voucher for £15 a head to indulge in soup and starters from the Chefs Table and then a main from the menu, but what you get it so worth paying full price for. The Chefs Table is filled to the brim with prawns, salmon, meats, cheese, salads, quiches, pates and even pizza, and you’re allowed to fill your plate as many times as you wish. The main menu has either brunch offerings, fishcakes, burgers, steak and your traditional Sunday Roast.

Cuckoo

If you’re looking for somewhere that plays proper tunes, has a decent cocktail list and gives you a free pizza of your choice when you order a cocktail then Cuckoo is the place for you. For less than £8 you can pick any cocktail from the menu and it comes with a 6″ pizza before 9pm, this is genius I tell you! I had the Sanchez pizza consisting of smoked chipotle pumpkin with chorizo and I’d happily eat a 14″ version of that any day! I also had a Rum & Raisin cocktail that I’ve not seen on the menu anywhere else, made up of Cuckoo’s very own raisin infused rum with cloudy apple and fig liquor which was so good. A great place to start your night with swanky booths, great staff and pizza to line your stomach.

MEATliquor

It’s been a while since I’ve been to a MEATliquor and this visit had me wondering why! The menu isn’t huge, but the portions are for sure. There’s a decent selection of loaded chips that work well for a light snack or if you’re going all out the burgers and cajun fries will totally hit the spot. The vegan menu is really spot on too. The fun decor, the friendly staff and gaming arcade up top are enough to please literally everyone!

  1. […] breakfast for me was a total highlight as I live for buffet English breakfasts! After all the eating and drinking we had been doing during our stay I would wake up pretty hungry and being able to pick up a carb […]
