London Living with an Alternative Twist!

Spending A Night at The Crown Hotel, Chertsey with Youngs Pubs *

This year, we agreed to spend more time exploring the UK as there are so many incredible places to go and see and things to do. We were recently invited to do a little more of that exploring in Chertsey at The Crown Hotel with Young’s Pubs SUMMER18 offer; a welcome drink, dinner, bed & breakfast from just £129. Of course, we obliged and within a week or two we were packing in the car park out back ready to experience a new part of the UK!

On arrival, despite being a little earlier than check-in time, our room was ready so we thought we’d have a quick peek before wandering around the town.

The room actually looked like somewhere we would have decorated ourselves, in fact, when sharing the room on my Instagram there were a few comments saying they thought we’d redecorated our bedroom! We love a country style look and this room ticked all of the boxes; plenty of tartans, wood panels, and a huge bed that was so comfy I didn’t want to have to get out of it the following morning!

The room was also filled with some really great amenities which for me, makes a huge deal about how I view a hotel stay! If you get good amenities in the room I think it shows that the hotel cares a little more about its guests and how they want to be perceived. Our room had a swanky Nespresso machine which was ideal as Mike likes to start his Sunday with a Nespresso when at home so he was able to do the same when away! They also had a decaf pod which made me feel very welcome too. There was a large selection of teas, different mugs and cups depending on what hot drink you chose and a little square of chocolate brownie each too!

And whilst I’m waffling about amenities, the bethroom so well stocked too! The Crown Hotel was not stingy with their shampoo, conditioner and bath foam at all, we both got one of each which I think is really good for a one night stay. Usually, we end up sharing a shower gel as I forget to pack bits like that all the time! They also smelt really good too which makes a difference too!

The location of the hotel was great too, we were able to wander into town for lunch at the cutest Italian deli, catch some great Pokemon and buy plenty of secondhand books from one of the may charity shops. We did even manage to pop back for a pit stop to the hotel for a quick cuppa tea and to get warm as we’d foolishly dressed for summer despite it being a lot cooler out!

We spent the evening eating and drinking as part of the SUMMER18 deal that’s really worth taking part in if you’re looking a great staycation!
