My 2019 Travel Bucket List *

As I’ve literally just stepped off the plane from our final trip abroad this year, it’s got me thinking about where we want to head to next year. We have a few UK Staycations to still look forward to this year, but I do always look forward to trips abroad that little bit more for some reason! Next year, we have said we need to be really sensible with our travel as we are planning to buy a house between us so all of our money should be going towards that, but sometimes the odd trip away won’t hurt!

I’ve chosen a few places around Europe as you can often find great value flights that help keep your cost down. So here goes, my 2019 travel bucket list…

Malaga

We flew into and out of Malaga this weekend, but didn’t get chance to explore as we staying up in Benalmadena for a friends wedding. On our drive from the airport we spotted lots of places we would want to explore and places to eat and drink. It’s also a great base for going to explore the likes of Torremolinos, Fuengirola, Marbella and even Barcelona. There’s so much to see and do in such a small area that it really does need a return trip to take it all in.

Canary Islands

Holidays to the Canaries have always been dubbed as the perfect choice for anyone looking for your typical beach break and it’s somewhere we’ve both never been as we’re not beach holiday people, but… I’m thinking a nice chill out session on the beach, good food from around town and a little bit of exploring could be exactly what we need after the stress and worry I’m expecting from buying a house. We’ve got  several islands to choose from including Tenerife, Gran Canaria, Lanzarote and Fuerteventura, so I’d be doing my research of where the best food is and heading there! The warmth all year round, which I learnt about on Holiday Gems, makes it rather appealing too when the cold here gets a little too much!

Prague

Lots of people see Prague as a stag do destination, but it’s meant to be stunning and the photographer in me just wants to head there and snap away. I want to see all of the colorful baroque buildings, the hundreds of Gothic churches that are there and to see the medieval Astronomical Clock that gives an animated hourly show. We love places filled with history so this would be perfect for a weekend break away.

Budapest

Mike has recently been to Budapest on a stag do, but didn’t get to see much so we’ve agreed to take a trip there together. I’ve read about the ruin bars, the great food, the cheap drink and the stunning scenery so it’s a lot of things that appeal to me rolled into one! The list of things to do in Budapest is unreal so I think this would be one of those trips that we need a week of after to recover from cramming so much in!
