When it comes to travel, we all love that splash of luxury. I’ve never been one for hostels, or booking the cheap option as when I travel I love to feel spoiled! I’ve worked hard to earn those pennies, so why not spoil myself once in a while!
One of the highlights for me when travelling is the food, in fact when we book somewhere, I often plan where we are eating before we get there! The team from Azure Collection have picked Lake Como in Italy as one of their favourite spots for a Gastronomy filled trip, and guess what?! We’ve never been, but having read all they have to say about the area, I most certainly want to go. I can’t think of a time where I’ve been to Italy and not enjoyed the food, so there’s always a need to go back and explore some more, right?!
Lake Como is surrounded by the totally stunning Rhaetian Alps, which has featured in films including Casino Royale and Star Wars Episode II, which is always super cool to know! The area offers gourmet restaurants, that use the freshest ingredients and, to top it all off, there’s also easy access to vineyards that produce excellent wines. What else does this girl need; great food and fine wines? Nothing, I tell you that!
The Grand Hotel Tremezzo offers cookery classes that come highly recommended and once you’re done with your class you can enjoy your creations overlooking the lake. Sign me right up! This is also an ideal place to stay with five restaurants and bars, where the sommeliers are willing to teach you all they know, or if that’s not enough, book a tour to a local vineyard. The hotel also has three pools, one which is actually floating in a lake, a private beach and even their own park. There are just so many options of things to do and that’s without even leaving the hotel premises!
One thing about Lake Como that caught my eye was the fact you can have a ‘Chicnic’ there. Yes, that’s a chic picnic, filled with tasty goodies that can be enjoyed on a water limousine in a secluded spot or at a mountain summit overlooking the lake. Proper dreamy!
