New Beauty Treatments Everyone Is Trying This Year *

*This is a collaborative post.

The world of weird and wonderful beauty treatments never stands still, and 2020 is no exception. This year, we’re going to see a range of new techniques and therapies hit the market, many of which you’ve probably never seen or heard of before.

What’s more, many of these innovative and exciting treatments are already here. Let’s take a look.

Oil-Based Eye Baths

As people get older, they tend to develop dark circles around their eyes. For many, it is just a part of life, but now a range of clinics are fighting back, attempting to help people get rid of their dark circles for good and feel more confident.

There’s a massive buzz right now about oil eye baths offered by Ayurvedic salons. Here the beautician soaks a doughy substance in oil and then places it on your eyes. They then leave the oil to work its magic, reinvigorating the eye area. After that, they perform a deep massage of the affected area, helping to rejuvenate the tissue around the eye and help drain any excess fluid. The hope is that by the end of the session, the dark circles and bags will appear reduced, if not eliminated.

Plucking and shaping eyebrows are two techniques that have been around for a long time, but now there’s a new kid on the block – mircoblading. Here, trusted Phibrows microblading specialists use a tiny bladed pen to chop away sections of hair in your eyebrows to create an interesting pattern. The idea is to create a unique look you can show off at parties and special occasions.

Laser Treatment For Cellulite

The conventional wisdom in beauty circles is that there’s nothing that you can do to get rid of cellulite. If you have it, that’s it: it’s with you for life.

Now, though, some cosmetologists believe that there’s a way to deal with the problem, and it involves lasers.

Cellulite is a form of trapped fat under the skin. Fat cells accumulate in blobs just under the surface, creating that mottled effect that characterises the condition, something that occurs most commonly on the thighs and buttocks.

Now, though, you can get laser treatment for it.

The way it works is simple. A therapist points a laser at these bundles of fat cells, killing them in the process. When they die, they send out signals to the body’s internal cleanup team, telling them that they are dead and ready for recycling. The body then clears away the fat cells, thereby removing the cellulite in the process. How long the treatment lasts is still a matter of debate, but it is an exciting development, nonetheless.

Teeth Masks

You’ve heard of skin and hair masks – now there are masks that you can get for your teeth too to make them look whiter.

Applying a teeth mask is easy, and something you can do at home. All you need is a tray and some gel that contains a whitening agent. You squirt the gel onto the plate and then pop it in your mouth and leave it there to work its magic. That’s it.
