Online casinos are wonderful places! You can play all your favourite games, including Poker, Blackjack, and Roulette, from the comfort of your home, or on the move, whenever you want, because they never close their virtual doors!
However, the introduction of live games has taken the online experience up a notch. With casino live at Betfair, you can now play the classics with a Las Vegas vibe, whilst some games also include alternative rules, and thus taking the age-old games into a more modern-era – and that includes Poker! With that in mind, let’s take a look at a Poker game with added thrills and spills.
Stud Poker is the classic game, but with a few twists in the tale! When you pull up a virtual pew at this live table, you’ll go head-to-head with an expert dealer. However, unlike the typical one way to win, this game gives you a range of options that allow you to pocket cash prizes worth up to £100,000 coins or more!
This game is played with eight standard decks of cards, and you can get playing from as little as 0.50 coins, whilst if you’re a high roller, the main, and side bets, allow you to play stakes of up to 1,000 coins per hand!
Stud Poker couldn’t be any simpler: put together a better five-card poker hand than the dealer. Once you’ve placed your ante, you’ll be given five cards, as will the dealer. However, four of the dealer’s cards will be face down. At this point, you must decide whether to play, or fold!
If you want to play on with the hand, you must double your ante bet and place it on the ‘call’ option – so when placing your ante it’s important you leave enough to the side to be able to double-up. Then, the dealer will reveal their cards and, if they have at least an ace, or king, they qualifier and it’s a straight showdown. To your advantage, if the dealer doesn’t qualify, you win 1:1 on your ante.
On the other hand, if the dealer does boast at least a king, and you hold a better hand, you’ll win 1:1 on your ante, plus a multiple of your call bet. Your returns are determined by the value of your hand. A high-card, which is actually the lowest Poker win, is worth 1:1, whilst at the other end of the spectrum, a Royal Flush is worth a whopping 100:1!
Alongside the main bet, Stud Poker also allows you to make 5+1 and jackpot side bets. The latter is dependent on your five cards, as well as, the dealer’s first card. If they make a ranked hand combo, you could win prizes with an upper-limit of 1000x your initial bet.
And that’s not all, wager one coin on the progressive jackpot option and you could win prizes in excess of six-figures, just by making a ranked Poker hand! Before we play casino games, we often want to know what our chances of winning are. And, when you take all this into consideration, the Live Casino Stud Poker Return to Player (RTP) can reach a mouth-watering 98.18% – meaning a house edge of under two percent! What’s not to love?
Of course, if Stud Poker isn’t your cup of tea, other exciting games are also available, including 3 Card Brag, whilst standard Poker, and Texas Hold ‘Em, lobbies are also on hand.
