5 Methods to Keep Yourself Feeling Fuller *

*Collaborative Post.

We need to get out of the habit of feeling that we need to go without in order to reap the benefits when it comes to losing weight. Yes, while there’s a lot of focus on fasting, the fact is that if we need to get by from day to day while also making sure that we are healthy and are losing weight, the trick is to ensure we feel more satisfied. Feeling fuller means that you can keep cravings at bay and you can go about your day without thinking about food constantly. So what are some of the best ways to feel fuller for longer?

Protein

Protein is one of the most useful things to keep full. If you have enough protein it will help your energy levels, and if you exercise, it’s a great way to help you recover quicker. You can add food like chicken to a salad to make it more filling, but if you are on the go constantly you should think about something like a protein shake. Many protein suppliers like EatProtein offer a wide variety of protein products to help you keep hunger at bay.

Liquids

It’s not the most interesting thing in the world but if you are trying to keep full, you should have a glass of water if you are feeling hungry. So many of us mistake thirst for hunger. You should always have enough water nearby but also keep those liquids coming! From tea to coffee and everything in between, as long as they are healthy and don’t have sugar in them, it’s much better for you to focus on feeling full with liquids.

Soups for Lunch

As drinking more liquid keeps you fuller, if you can have more soup, this is another variation of liquids. Blending ingredients with water means that you absorb the water directly into your stomach which will help you feel fuller. There are plenty of great homemade soup recipes out there. You don’t need it to be boring tomato soup each and every time! Plus, it’s better if you make your own rather than opt for shop-bought.

Fill up With Fibre

If you eat a lot of white pasta and bread, swapping to the brown carbohydrates will keep you fuller for longer. They are high in fibre so the food is absorbed into your system more slowly, which minimises the energy spikes and dips. A bowl of porridge for breakfast is a fantastic method of keeping full, and if you put protein in it, as well as a bit of water you are going a long way to make yourself feel full-up.

Smaller Meals

This is one of the best ways to lose weight, but it can also help you to keep your focus. When you are eating every couple of hours, there’s less chance you will snack. But if you like big meals, perhaps you can reduce the portion sizes. With each of these approaches, you need to work out what is best for you. There are plenty of ways for you to lose weight and be healthy but for many people, feeling full is the biggest obstacle.
