Calling all film lovers! For those who have ever fancied themselves as the next Scorsese or Tarantino, here is their chance to make it big on the (big) screen. This summer, Bombay Sapphire has teamed up with London film director and lecturer, Justin Trefgarne to host a
series of fun and interactive ‘Learn How to be a Film Director’ workshop evenings.
The interactive workshops will provide an introduction to the world of film directing, hints and tips on producing short films as well as a wealth of industry insights and know-how.
Guests will also hear more about the Bombay Sapphire Imagination Series film experience and have fun creating an imaginative treatment for a film script, all whilst enjoying specially created Bombay Sapphire cocktails – including the signature film-themed Bombay Sapphire Popcorn Collins, throughout the evening.
The ‘Learn How to be a Film Director’ evening workshops are part of the recently launched
Bombay Sapphire ‘Imagination Series’ global film experience, in collaboration with Tribeca Film Festival and Oscar-winning screenwriter Geoffrey Fletcher. The Imagination Series project offers film lovers the chance to make their own short film with imagination at its heart.
The global competition is based on a specially commissioned script written by Geoffrey, whichforms the basis of the short film. Budding filmmakers from around the world can view the script at www.imaginationseries.com and submit their imaginative interpretation, through words and images. The competition will close on Wednesday 1 August and then a global judging panel (including Geoffrey and industry experts from the Tribeca Film Institute) will select five winners from a shortlist of entries in September. The winners will go on to direct their own short film, which will be launched at exclusive international screenings in early 2013.
