So if you’re looking for something slightly more manly to treat your other half, dad, grandand or brother to Christmas and you’re all out of ideas, then I shall be your saviour!
Gentleman’s Afternoon Tea is the answer! Chapters in Blackheath thought of this divine idea, so I headed along to try it with my usual partner in crime.
We were filled to the brim with delicious delicacies including a miniature Chapters Burger, Salt Beef on Toasted Rye, Champagne Glazed Oysters, Venison Bresaolo, Duck Croquants and Deep Fried Herring Melts. These were some of the yummiest miniature snacks I had ever consumed. Even my partner in crime ate the herring, and that is certainly saying something. There was minimal left on our plates as we were so stuffed but the food was just too good to leave!
Our scrumptious snacks were washed down with locally brewed Greenwich Meantime Pilsner which was the lightest beer I have ever drunk. It’s certainly the perfect beverage for such a filling meal. After that we even got to try the incredible Chocolate Beer, which tastes nothing like you would expect! It’s more like Guinness than chocolate but was still such a great flavour.
It was then time to munch our way through the most perfectly cooked chocolate brownie, and the most divine treacle tart I have ever tasted. These were sided with ice cream that complimented the flavours amazingly. I was actually so disappointed that I was unable to finish these incredible platter!
This was a great way to spend an afternoon, and I was more than full up for the rest of the day. So if that special man in your life is one of those men who have everything and presents are hard to buy for, then treat them to this! You’ll be in their good books for Christmas’ to come!
