As you may have noticed, I’m off to Reading Festival this weekend. The 15 year old emo kid inside me literally cannot contain themselves, so I thought I’d do a festival themed post!
If you’ve never been to a festival then I’m compiled a list of a ten bits you really must take that I’ve learnt over the past five years of being an avid festival goer:
You’ll obviously need a tent if you’re camping. Always make sure you go at least one man bigger than you need, a two man tent means two people only, there’s no space for bags! I learnt this the hard way!
Waterproofs like wellies and ponchos are always needed! You can roll your socks up and stuff your wellies with them if you’re worried about packing space. Most people will wear wellies at festivals even if it isn’t raining!
Packs of tissues! I say these rather than loo roll as they are easier to take in bags and pockets when on the move and in the festival arena.
A few bin bags, this may seem like an odd one, but if you have muddy clothes and wellies you won’t want to be putting those in your bag/car. Also great for rubbish.
Wipes and dry shampoo will be your best friend unless you’re brave enough to shower!
If you plan on drinking take in your own alcohol for the campsite, it’s usually very expensive onsite! Do check your festivals website for policies on glass bottles.
If you’re a light sleeper like I am some ear plus may be a good idea to block out the noise of others around you. A blow up bed is always an added luxury for a better night sleep too.
Sleeping bags! There are so many available now, even double ones if you’re going camping with your other half.
Fold up chairs are a great to come back to and relax on, your feet will thank you for it!
If you’re going to have good weather then lots of suncream, a hat and sun glasses! I cant’ count the amount of festivals I’ve got burnt at!
Hope these help!
