This weekend an old friend and I headed over to London Fields Brewery for Oktoberfest, and we had such a fantastic time!
As we walked into the venue we were greeted by a fantastic German band that had the crowd involved in signing and dancing, and plenty of great German good options!
The beer was served in the most amazing 2 pint tankards know as Steins, and we tried the London Fields ‘Love Not War’ beer. We loved it! Was so refreshing as it turned out to be a rather warm day, and here’s how it described on their website ‘First brewed barricaded in the brewery during the London riots. This brooding red ale is an ode to all things peace and love. A true union of malt and hops, with silky texture and soft caramel flavours cuddling up to a rich pear and summer fruit character.’
After getting the beers in we decided we had best line our stomachs as we didn’t want headaches the following morning. We we with Herman Ze Germans Bratwurst with sauce and curry powder on top, its was incredible!
I know for a fact I will be returning to Oktoberfest last year if the food, beer and entertainment is this great every year! The band made the day even more enjoyable for us with making us get up and sing, and watching those brave enough to take part in the trombone and yodeling challenges! A laugh was never far away!
The London Fields Brewery has a very nice bar/cafe a few doors down which also looked awesome, so I will be back to try that!
Cheers!
