This year, in addition to an abundance of one day cookery courses, all taught by award winning chefs, The Cookery School at Braxted Park will also be offering a selection of three hour evening classes.
The evening courses start at 6.45pm, allowing local delegates time to get there after work, and is a great thing to do with a friend(s) or partner or alone. Instead of going out for a meal one evening, why not learn to cook it yourself, whilst meeting new people and developing new skills, as well as getting to eat great food?
The first class, being held in March, is Free From Pizza and Pasta and is aimed at people with a dairy, gluten or nut intolerance that would like to learn to cook delicious pizza and pasta dishes, that they can recreate and eat at home.
Cookery School Manager, Sharon Sonnex said; “we are extremely excited about offering evening courses and can’t wait to start running them. We wanted to offer classes to those people that want to come and learn a new skill but maybe don’t have the time to dedicate a whole day – now we cater for all.”
“Chef Steve Walpole, will be taking most of our evening classes and he’s fantastic. His love of food started at a very early age and he’s been passionate about cooking ever since he started his Saturday job in a local restaurant at the age of 15!” Sharon continued.
Future courses already scheduled to take place in the first half of this year include; Tricks of the Trade Parts 1 and 2 and Vietnamese Street Food. During the Tricks of the Trade courses delegates will learn about enhancing flavour, how to create a great base for stocks, sauces and soups, knife skills and much more.
The Vietnamese Street Food course includes some well known street foods such as Pho, Goi cuon, Banh khot and Banh cam, all taught in three hours by chef Steve Walpole.
