Why You Have To Visit The French Riviera

To be honest, you don’t need any more reasons to visit the French Riviera than you already have; it is the French Riviera! It is one of the most glamorous and beautiful places on the planet, and if you get the chance to visit in your lifetime, you will be privileged. For all the glitz and the glamour, there is a lot more to the Riviera than meets the eye. These are just a few more reasons to add it to the bucket list, and make you even more jealous of the people who have visited!

   The Beaches  

The beauty of the golden beaches might not be a French Riviera exclusive, it is the worst kept secret in the world, but they are still unbelievable. There are beaches across the world that might have a claim to be the best, Rio springs to mind, but sitting on Tahiti beach in St Tropez is unparalleled. For starters, you are in St Tropez drinking cocktails. But better yet, you are surrounded by golden, white-hot sand and water so clear you can see your reflection on the surface.

If the beaches of St Tropez are not your thing, there is always Plage C Beach in Cannes. Seriously, these are the options available to you in the French Riviera!

   History

The area is not well known for its history, but there is plenty to learn about when you visit. Over the past couple of centuries, many people have invaded the country and left their mark. There are the Greeks, the Romans and the Goths to name, but a few and their imprint is all over the French Riviera.

For example, there is the Greek acropolis/ Roman fortress of Chateau Grimaldi in Antibes, or the Gothic cloisters in Aix-en-Provence.

   Family Attractions

It might not come across as family-friendly, especially when you are posing for the camera on the Cannes red carpet. But, there is a lot for the children to enjoy. Of course, you already know that they cater for the adults, but the kids will love Antibes Land. Antibes Land is a theme park full of thrills and spills for the whole family. The kids will love the adrenaline-filled rides while you will love the peace and quiet!

   Shopping

It is expensive, but when will you get the chance to shop in the French Riviera again? Go on, indulge yourself! There is no better place to do it, even if you have had the experience of shopping in London or New York. There are high-end shops such as Chanel and Christian Dior, or even Louis Vuitton. You might even spot some celebs there while you do it.

But, if these are out of your price range there are other, affordable options. Try the Cathedrale Sainte-Repartate region in Nice for some great bargains, as well as a great atmosphere for shopping.

As I said, you don’t need any more excuses than you already have to visit the French Riviera. These reasons are just there as a warning: do not miss out!
