It has been about 13 years since I last went on a cruise, and I don’t mean those little cruises around cities you do on holiday, I’ve done plenty of those. I’m talking about proper two-week long cruises exploring a new place nearly every day and eating more than your body weight in food! Mike has never been on a cruise before and I’m determined to get him on one as I’m sure he will love it. When we travel we tend to go in with guns blazing and cram in every single thing we possibly can, which means we often come home totally shattered from late nights and early mornings. The thing that I love about cruises is that you can make them as hectic or chilled as you want so we could even take a day or two out to refresh ourselves when at sea.
My cruise bucket list is ever expanding as I tend to find great deals on them all the time, especially with P&O Cruises who have adult only areas on their most of their cruises and even have some totally over 18 cruises which really appeal to me! P&O’s over 18 Oriana Cruise Ship has three pools and four whirlpools on board, the Oasis Spa, plenty of evening entertainment and even more places to eat and drink, so what’s not to love about that?
It’s no surprise that the 17 night Spain, Italy and Croatia cruise on aboard the Oriana is top of my list. With stops in the likes of Mallorca, Venice and Dubrovnik it will allow us to experience new places that are on our list and to head back to Venice to create new, better memories together as we both weren’t 100% on our first separate visits many years ago. With a few days at sea, we could make the most of the gym, outdoor sports equipment and work our way around all seven onboard bars.
Norway is so high on my to visit list that cruising around it would be beyond perfect. The seven-night cruise has eight stops around Norway on the itinerary meaning you get to see so much of the stunning country whilst cruising along the Fjords. I can imagine just how stunning the views from your balcony would be, I don’t think I’d be able to sleep or stop for dinner as I’d be scared I’d miss a stunning sight!
I’ve never been to Belgium but as a chocolate and beer lover, I know it’s somewhere I would totally love. We could do a little three-day cruise to pop into Belgium, see the sights of Guernsey and then head on home to see if they are places we want to spend long weekends in. We will eat well, drink great beers and bring home enough chocolate to fill the fridge and more! I’ve always wanted to see how stunning Guernsey is too!
I love how many great options and destinations there are for cruises, so much so, it seems like the options are endless. Now just to work on Mike to get us booked on one for later on in the year!
