When it comes to British Events, 2019 is packed full to fit everyone’s genre of activities. So, here’s a top guide to the best things to do in Britain in 2019.
As summer is closely approaching its time to think about what activities to plan and do throughout the rest of the year. For a glamorous and tasteful event, the Grand National is the best place to start – so bring out your stylish hats and vibrant dresses for this three-day event, maybe even have a cheeky bet or 2 with Timeform. The main event starts at 5:15 pm – so best to drink after the races.
Car events, the majority of people love them. What better outing than to go and see the top super and sports cars of the old and new year’s – Well, May 16th – 19th May is the London Motor Show, this special event holds more than just cars for you to sit inside and look at. This year’s display is set to have the likes of a La Ferrari, Bugatti Chiron and the fastest produced Aston Martin.
Another great British summer event is British Summer Time in Hyde Park, an amazing music festival hosted over 2 weekends from Friday the 5th to Sunday the 14th of July in London’s Hyde Park. With gigs from some of the biggest icons of the music world from Cher, to Robbie Williams, there will be something for everyone. As well as having movie nights, live tennis from Wimbledon and plenty of bars serving up cold beers & cocktails.
Europe holds the most famous fashion weeks. If you’re a fan of fashion then this is the event for you. Held in BFC Show Space, London – this famous show has the likes of designers from Victoria Beckham, Adidas, Vivienne Westwood and Burberry. Unfortunately, some are invitation only, while some are open designer showrooms. Meeting new designers are seeing their vision can sometimes be better than seeing iconic artists.
If the beach is more your thing, Perranporth in Cornwall will be hosting the English surfing championships from May 4th-6th. It’s an excellent chance to go to the beach, relax and watch some world-class surfers chop it up on the waves. You can chill on the beach, wander into Perranporth town & explore the local area.
In June, the world-famous Glastonbury returns in 2019. The five-day yearly event with the line-up that consists some of the world’s most famous and new artist, such as Janet Jackson, Stormzy, Liam Gallagher and The Killers. The tickets will set you back around £248 for the full weekend. That includes over 3,000 performances across 100 stages, five nights of camping with free firewood, a free miniguide and a free programme and many more with your package. While you can bring your own caravans/campervan – for accommodation, most people will bring their own tents, but for an extra cost, there are options like pre-set up tipi’s for you to stay in. A heads up, the event does not allow for you to sleep on the car park.
