Southend on Sea, better known to many as just Southend, is a lovely seaside borough in Essex. Itβs home to Leigh on Sea, Westcliff, Chalkwell, Prittlewell, and the newly-made city of Southend.
There are so many wonderful places that are independently owned that are not only dog friendly, but they really embrace dogs being there. Chippi, our dog, received plenty of cuddles, treats and a water bowl of her own!
So if youβre a fan of independent venues, and want your dog to feel just as welcome as you do, then these places are for youβ¦

βΉοΈ βLegraβ is the original name for Leigh on Sea mentioned in the Doomsday Book and with @Leigh on Sea Brewery having a beer with the same name, it makes perfect sense as to why this wonderful pub goes by that name! They pride themselves on the quality of the food, the range of the beer and the warmth of the welcome, and they have nailed all three.

I advise taking the train as it can help you avoid parking in town as it can get really busy, plus you can drink all those lovely beers and wine too!
