The House of Peroni returns this year at a new venue on Lincoln’s Inn Fields, Holborn. The House will bring the new wave of Italian creative talent from the worlds of food, drink, fashion and design to the capital.
With award-winning architect and co-designer of the Enzo Ferrari museum Andrea Morgante at the helm, The House takes guests on a journey into the cutting-edge world of Italian style. The House has been inspired by 1963; a transformative year when Italian style became renowned across the world and the year that Carlo Peroni created Peroni Nastro Azzurro. A great year for the beer world!
Peroni Nastro Azzurro has been brewed to the same unique recipe since 1963. Created by blending a proprietary variety of Italian maize ‘Nostrano Peroni’ grown near Bergamo in northern Italy, with 2-row spring barley and delicate hops, to create the unmistakably crisp, refreshing taste of Peroni Nastro Azzurro that we still enjoy today.
The house. as ever, is filled to the brim with great artists, designer and fashionista. The rooms are filled with stunning bespoke creations from the likes of sculptographer Daniele Papuli, design duo Carnovsky, and fashion designer Vivetta. I loved the Vivetta magazine style cut out, shame my photo turned out blurry!
My favourite room was probably the simplest, the restaurant; Dine With A Stranger. As with every typical Italian meal, the menu will be divided into four sections: antipasti, primi piatti, secondi piatti and dolce. Each course will contain three choices, with each choice representing an authentic recipe or ingredient, one from the North, one from the Centre and one from the South of Italy. Every dish is also inspired by songs from the 1963 Hit Parade. I really enjoy the idea of maybe being sat with someone you don’t know, there’s nothing better than bonding over good food!
