So you all know I’m a serious burger addict, and this may come as a surprise to you; I hadn’t had a good burger in a few weeks, maybe even a month until I popped down to The Old Crown Public House on New Oxford Street. The pub itself is Victorian themed with exposed brickwork and super friendly staff.
The menu consists of burgers and hot dogs, yes, the stuff in which dreams are made of!
I obviously opted for a burger seeing as this has been voted one of the best burger joints in London! Although I did veer away from my normal cheese and bacon burger; shock horror!! I chose ‘The Major Filler’ which was a pork burger with pulled pork on top and coleslaw. This burger was a monster!
After the first few bites I was covered in sauce and loved it! The pulled pork was perfect; I like it smothered in BBQ sauce! The skin on chips were great too! The partner in crime went for hot dog!
Filled with the spiciest chilli con carne we have ever tried and laden with cheese, this went down a right treat! The partner in crime opted for french fries which were equally tasty!
The atmosphere is super laid back, we felt at home with the staff and I know I will be returning! There are function rooms available for hire and plenty of themed nights!
