The first of Mr Vine’s WINE’D UP nights hits the Phoenix in Cavendish Square (near Oxford Circus tube) on 11th November. Treating you to an awesome wine line up and music with a series of interactive and immersive #WineGames from 7pm that you will not want to miss!!
Wine tastings could be perceived as a bit anoraky, but this is all about to change. The cool new app Mr Vine is putting together an innovative new night where London’s 20 and 30 somethings can find out all about wine! With non-stuffy guest speakers delivering wine games with the odd gag and prize draw, you’ll also learn the difference between your Malbec and your Merlot!
The essentials are covered, but young pro’s will find their wine education delivered in a slapstick style and if you’re quite happy to leave the room having learnt only marginally more than when you came in then Wine’d Up is for you!
After an hour or so having some wines poured and explained for you, the music kicks in. Housey beats will accompany the soiree to really mix things up!
“We’ve set out to get a monthly event on the calendar where Londoners can basically have a proper club night with wine games thrown in at the start. That way people have a great night out and gradually get more wine knowledge… we didn’t want a full-on wine study style that you see at most wine events, that can be a bit much for most of us”, says Charlie Martin, founder of the Mr Vine App that’s hosting the night. “This should hit the spot for the wine curious but is really for anyone just wanting to have a top Wednesday out in the West End… now wine is seen as contemporary with a younger, really engaged crowd – at our Wine’d Up events we’ll leave the old school terminology firmly at the door.”
From February these will run monthly throughout 2016 but the first exclusive new night is on November 11th and features hostess Helena Nicklin – aka Winebird. You’ll see wine like never before and some lucky peeps may even go home with a bottle of their own! After the #WineGames have fizzled, grab a drink and get your shapes ready for the d-floor, where the guest DJ will be serving up tasty tunes for you until late!
Non wine lovers are welcome – there’s a regular bar at the venue that serves the full range.
Starts at 7pm prompt if you want to be part of the wine games. It’s free if you register over the next few days on Eventbrite, before paid general admission kicks in at a fiver.
