A Guide to the Blackhorse Road Beer Mile

The Blackhorse Road Beer Mile is the lesser-known beer mile of the two that are in London. Blackhorse Road is in Walthamstow and is accessible via the Blackhorse Road Overground Station. 

There are three ways in which you can take on this beer mile; from the station and starting at the first stop, or walking furthest from the station to work your way back to the station to get home, or the way we did it, starting at Yonder as it’s not a taproom/brewery, but they sell craft beers, and then heading to the end to work back to the station!

✒️ This is such a unique space! A community-led facility with amazing indoor climbing walls for all abilities, co-working for all, studio space for rental and a café serving some really great craft beers. On arrival, head upstairs and get a seat along the edge to watch the climbing walls in action.
🥯 Daytime menu offers snacks, hot and cold food, evening menu offers bar food and quick bites as well as sharing dishes.

🍻 Hackney Brewery
✒️  One of the largest breweries and spaces on the beer mile is Hackney Brewery, home to 20 taps serving the freshest of Hackney beers direct from the brewery alongside a mix of their favourites from the rest of the UK and parts of the USA.
🍕 Pizza Lovers London are on-site serving fresh pizzas on Thurs & Frid from 5-10pm, Sat 1-10pm and Sun 1-7pm

🍻 Wild Card Brewery Lockwood Taproom
✒️ This could be the most well known brewery on the beer mile and this is likely down to Jaega Wise, the head brewer and co-founder of the brewery. She won 2018 Brewer of the Year from the British Guild of Beer Writers and has gone from strength to strength since!

🍷 Renegade Wine
✒️  OK, so this one isn’t a beer stop, but if you’re also a wine drinker then it’s well worth a visit whilst you’re nearby! They buy top-quality, hand-harvested grapes from vineyards around the UK and Europe, and make modern styles of wine at this very venue.

🍻 Beerblefish Brewing Company
✒️ Stocking a full range of their own beers based on nineteenth century recipes and tasting notes and gins (Limited Edition and Second Edition Hopped Gins), plus carefully selected alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks from other producers.

✒️ The largest of all the brewing spaces you’ll visit on the beer mile is home to Pretty Decent and their infamous beer slushies! If you’re not down for try the slushies, then there are 20 taps if fresh beer to pick from.
