London Living with an Alternative Twist!

#RunSquibbRun Charity Car Fundraiser, Essex.

On Sunday 31st August I help a little car meet to help raise funds to go towards my 2015 London Marathon for Anthony Nolan at the outstanding Roadhouse Diner on the A127.  I was overwhelmed with the support from both the team at the Roadhouse and all of the amazing cars that turned up!

We had members from the Jaguar Enthusiasts Club, Havering Classic Car Club, Audi Owners Club and Petrol Heads United.  In total an incredible 24 cars turned up and I was in complete shock at the generosity of these people I had never met before coming down and spending their Sunday helping me to raise money!

I even got insane amounts of support for my raffle prizes that included an Ammaco Classique bike donated by Discount Cycles, a photoshoot with NWVT donated by Nick Williams, a OnePiece kindly donated by OnePiece, signed items sent to me by Manchester United FC, Chelsea FC and Charlton FC, a stadium tour from Liverpool FC, sunglasses from the fabulous Specspost, a voucher dontated by Amara Living and a London Ghost Bus Tour.  These companies have been so supportive and I can’t thank them enough.

I have to say thank you to Lola’s Cupcakes as well as they kindly donated 36 stunning cupcakes for me to sell on the day.  These went down a right treat!

We also had a little tombola and a guess how many sweets are in the jar, that people seemed to love!

Once the event finished we popped into the Roadhouse to fill ourselves with American goodness, and we were far from disappointed!  I had the Philadelphia Burger with bacon and the partner in crime had the Nacho Dog; they were both amazing but were defeated by the size of them in true American style! The owner, Paul, is an absolute gentleman, he gifted us our dinners and told us to put what we would have spent towards my fundraising. I can’t thank him enough for this, and for the use of his car park for the event at short notice.  He showed nothing but support and lots of our car owners have said how amazing the food was too!

The event has helped me raise just short of £400, taking my total fundraising to well over £1100! I am so close to hitting my half way mark in only a few short months.

Thank you everyone that made this day a success!  If you’re interested in sponsoring me you can do so here, and if you’re interested in coming to one of my next events then please like my Facebook page here as this is updated with all events.
