You may remember that the lovely team from City Academy invited me over to try some of their courses that I jumped at the chance of taking up! I had the Street Photography class last month. I LOVE doing photography and am totally self taught so I thought it’d be great to learn from others and pick up some new skills!
City Academy are a London based creative arts and performance academy in London that specialise in classes for over 18s in singing, acting, dancing, musical theatre, comedy, filmmaking, screen, writing, life skills classes and fitness dance classes. There are classes to suit all levels of ability, and all times of the day to suit your daily timetable. They even host showcases at some of London’s most prestigious venues including Sadlers Wells and The Dominion Theatre.
The Night Time Photography class taught by Zarina Holmes turned out to be a one-on-one class and I was super pleased with that!
We started off at The Actors Centre learning the basics that I would need throughout the course. I learnt so much in this first hour I could of left there and then and been happy!
I’ve selected a few of the photographs I took from the course to share with you, none of these have been edited so I’m really please with how they turned out.
I’d always wanted to know how photographers made light lines and did these long exposure shots… now I know!
I love this one as I really like how the cars are behind the lights, this was just an experiment with timing and I’m super happy with it!
Forgive me for being daft, but it was only on this course that I realised that the blue and yellow lights were buses! I was so happy when one came along when I was snapping away!
Before it got dark we experiments with different settings on my camera and I think this is one is my favourite from that batch. I love how the river appears to be smoke like!
This photo took me ages to achieve! Zarina was teaching my the art of panning, and I finally got it!!
What do you think of my shots? Have you been on any course?
Picture Of The Day 😀
Wow, all these pictures are so good! I’d love to go on a photography course once I’ve got a decent camera to play with!
Thank you lovely! I learnt so much!!
They are really good 🙂
