Slow Cooked Pulled Pork

This recipe is literally the best meal I have ever made ever! I had some help from my delightful chap and now we feel Couples Come Dine With Me is a must!

We may have cheated slightly by using  the BBQUE Barbecue Sauce from the Degustabox instead of making our own sauce but when it smells as good as that sauce did you can totally understand why we did it!

This was such an easy meal to make, we bought a decent sized shoulder of pork and marinaded it for 24 hours.  We mixed up a BBQ Flavour Shot with a pint of water and some garlic to ensure the pork didn’t dry out. We then popped it in the slow cooker on high for one hour, for the next 4 hours we had it on a low heat, and for the last hour whacked it back on high.  Half way through we turned the pork.

To accompany this we made our own chips… we simply chopped our potatoes into chunky slices, and part boiled them until soft.  When we drained the water give the potatoes a good shake to rough up the edges, this helps to crisp up the chips.  We lined a try with beef dripping and cooked the chips for around 50 mins on 200 degrees.

I had some coleslaw on the side of my meal and the chap had some veggies.

I have to say this evening was a little bit perfect, sitting out on the balcony with a glass of wine and divine food!

Have you tried pulled pork?
