When it comes to having breakfast vs. no breakfast I’ve only just started having breakfast every day in the past year or so! I used to hate the thought of it, and would wait to snack at 11ish or even go all the way til lunch without despite being told numerous times that it wasn’t doing my body any favours!
Nutritionists advise breakfast should be eaten within two hours of waking, I often eat when I get to my desk at work, just within my two-hour bracket, and a healthy breakfast should provide calories in the range of 20-35% of your guideline daily allowance. Breakfast restores glucose levels, an essential carbohydrate that is needed for the brain to function so it will help you be more productive throughout the day, and it can also make us happier as it can improve mood and lower stress levels.
MOMA have put together this great infographic on what we eat, what we don’t and why ‘you really should eat breakfast!’
Do you eat breakfast? I certainly feel better when I do!
