Some of the top family activities in Hertfordshire in the winter are listed below. Consider checking these out while during your stay so that you can all have an unforgettable and really fun trip.

Hemel-Hempstead

Explore Hemel Hempstead

Hemel Hempstead is a big new town located within Hertfordshire, and it offers plenty of great activities that your family can enjoy during the winter.

For example, you can get active together and get some exercise at Sportspace, which features badminton courts and swimming pools. Then visit the great ice skating facility at Planet Ice. The Snow Centre is the closest real snow from London, and it’s considered Britain’s newest destination for snow sports. If your kids have never skied before but they wish to learn how to do it, they can take lessons there as well. There are lessons available for kids of all ages and ability levels, making it a great way to get away from it all during school holidays. In addition to skiing, you can also try sledging, which involves sliding and spinning down a snowy slope, and you don’t need any experience to enjoy that activity. And in between all of the fun, you and your family can enjoy a delicious full menu of food to refuel.

When booking your trip, be sure to browse through the many hotels in Hemel Hempstead to find the perfect place where your entire family will be comfortable.

Go Shopping

A family that shops together stays together, so head out for some retail therapy by visiting the towns of Letchworth Garden City or Stevenage in Hertfordshire county. These both offer fantastic shopping facilities, as well as museums, art galleries, and a cinema.

Plus, there are plenty of great eateries to choose from as well so you can get a delicious meal or a tasty snack or treat while you shop as well. The best part is all of these activates are indoors, so you can stay warm even if it is snowing and very cold outside.

Visit a Quaint Village

Hertfordshire is known for its many lovely sights, and there are several beautiful villages throughout the county as well. These exhibit a more traditional style that is quite different from the modern cities that you are likely used to.

Bundle up and head for a stroll as you check out the cute thatched cottages and lanes, which are a lot of fun during the holidays. Relax in a small tearoom and simply watch as the world goes by. Then take in all of the river valleys, pasturelands, and ancient woodlands that surround these villages.

With so many great things to do throughout Hertfordshire, it is no wonder that it has become a top destination for families to enjoy, especially throughout the winter.

You could visit Tring (very near Hemel). It is one of the quaint villages you mention, but with the added bonus of its own miniature Natural History Museum. Been a few years since I visited but, the museum used to have a flea dressed in a suit that you could look at under a magnifier! Great place !
