So tomorrow I’m having laser eye surgery to get rid of the glasses that I hide behind! It’s been an ongoing battle with do I, don’t I, for about three years, but I’ve finally abandoned all fear and are going for it! I know lots of people that have had it and have said it has changed their life so here’s to that! I have one eye long sighted and one eye short sighted so not wearing glasses isn’t an option as I feel seasick and having astigmatism means contact lenses aren’t hugely available; typical odd Haydy!
I’m rather nervous, yet rather excited about the outcome and I thought I’d share with you the five things I’m most looking forward to about being glasses free:
Being able to go to the gym/out for a run and having full vision! There’s nothing worse than sitting on the bike and not being able to read the subtitles on the news on the TV!
Not having to worry about where I left my glasses after a night out drinking; are they in the kitchen? In the bathroom? Did they even make it home at all?!
Being able to go on nights out without being able to see properly! You may have noticed that I often post photos without my glasses on, this is so I feel more dressed up, a little more glamourous if you will! The glasses were always in my handbag for the journey home and to fight off the awful headache that would soon be washing over me!
This may seem like a silly one, but my glasses fog up all the time! When I get on the train and go from the cold outside to the warm trains, I can’t see a thing, so that’s rather annoying! Roll on Tuesday morning so I can get on the train glasses free!
Another simple one is the way glasses collect rain water but don’t come with window wipers! I’m forever cleaning my glasses once they get soggy and they’re always so smeary!
Wish me luck! I will report back with my laser story when I’m repaired!
Oh wow, good luck for tomorrow!! I’ve always wondered about laser eye surgery but I’m too much of a chicken to go through with it! I hope it all goes well and I can’t wait to read about it 🙂

Simply Courageous
Good luck! I can sympathise with so many of these these points, particularly the awful headaches caused by not wearing glasses – even if it is for different reasons. Xx

I’ve been toying with the idea of laser for a while but I’m super scared about it! Can’t wait to hear how you get on x
Good luck! My mum had this done a couple of years ago and she loved it. Wearing goggles in bed was hilarious.
