As you all know, we are planning on selling the flat within the next year and I had no idea how much planning going into it! I mean, I know about the whole mortgage thing, but there are so many things on top of that worth doing your research on for when you have your new place. It gets you ahead of the game and can stop a hell of a lot of worrying once you’ve moved in.
I’ve started to create a list of tasks I can do pre-move and I’m going to share with you so you can be prepped for your move too!
Before you move, it’s worth checking out broadband and tv deals in the are you’ll be moving to. This not only means you can make sure you get the best deal, but it also means you will know how much you will be expected to pay each month so it won’t come as a shock.
It’s also a really good way to see if you could save on your bills by bundling your broadband and TV as I know we don’t do that now! We currently have Freeview that came with the TV we have, but we’d love to upgrade to something a bit more special such as Now TV or Virgin Media when we come to start a new contract.
I’ve already noticed that the areas we have picked to look to move to have far better broadband deals that what we are currently getting and that includes TV so I know for fact we can save some pennies when move! It’s also really important for me to have the internet ready for when we move as my job depends on it so much too!
Once you have moved, don’t forget to move your TV Licence too!
I’ve spoken about removal costs before, but this can often come as a shock when the time comes so it’s best to get a few quotes well in advance. Moving can cost a small fortune with all the fees you have to pay so it’s best to know what any added extras might cost so you have that money ready for it. If you’re looking to move in or around London, then be sure to get a competitive quote from Volition Removals.
So, you might have guessed, I love making lists, and one list I’ve kicked off is what documents we will need to update when we move. As soon as we know the address we will be moving to, I will be updating my driving licence, notifying banks, credit cards, subscriptions we have and anything else we have registered to our current address.
What would you add to this list?
