Lets Talk About Sexual Health… *

Men’s sexual health!

Don’t you feel that this something that we never discuss? And I’m not going to stand for that!

Over the past year or so, we’ve seen a great increase in men like Freddie Flintoff who have been so open with their mental health struggles which are huge steps in the right direction and I’m really hoping this is the start of something great and that sexual health is next on the list.

We need to make men’s sexual health less of a taboo so I’m going to spend the rest of this post chatting about all things men’s sexual health and the things I think we should be a little more open about.

What Should I Look Out For?

Erectile Dysfunction

Erectile dysfunction affects more men than you realise and there are so many things that can lead to its occurrence. Most people just jump to the conclusion that it’s because you’re not sexually attracted to your partner, but this may only be the smallest part of it. It can also stem from heart problems, be part of diabetes, can be affected by medication, mood problems such as stress, anxiety, and depression and even things such as smoking and drinking alcohol. It needs to be to spoken about more as so many people may have an underlying health issue they don’t know about!

If you do suffer from any of these problems and have spoken to your doctor about it, yes, talking to your doctor is the best options and they will have heard it time and time again so they won’t be phased by it a all, they are likely to prescribe you something along the lines of Viagra to help.

But did you know there are unbranded versions of viagra that work just as well, are scientifically tested and are kinder to your wallet? Sildenafil tablets are one of these unbranded Viagra’s and they contain the same active ingredient in the same amount as Viagra so this could be an option for you.

Low Testosterone

There are few signs that you have low testosterone; low sex drive, a problem with erections, a lack of semen, possible hair loss, fatigue, a decrease in muscle mass with an increase in body fat, decreased bone mass, mood swings, occasional memory loss, hypogonadism, and potential anaemia.

Some practices can offer Testosterone Replacement Therapy, such as this TRT Columbus clinic. They can analyse your exact circumstances to offer a customised plan that will help your specific needs as effectively as possible.

But, if you think you are suffering from any of these symptoms, you should book an appointment with your doctor first to establish whether low testosterone is definitely the case.

Peyronie’s Disease

This one comes hand in hand with erectile dysfunction and it’s something I’d not previously heard of, so I’m here to educate you. Peyronie’s Disease is a problem caused by scar tissue, called plaque, that forms on the inside of your penis which can result in a bending. It can also lead to erectile dysfunction.

And again, if you think you are suffering from this issue, book an appointment with your doctor.

Health Tips

Keeping Physically Fit

Try for 30 minutes of moderate exercise, 5 days a week. Try to de-stress; even 10 minutes a day can lower blood pressure which may help improve erectile dysfunction.

What You Eat and Drink Can Effect It!

Eat healthy because caffeine, alcohol and spicy foods can irritate the bladder; red meat and high-fat diets can increase the risk of kidney stones and cancer.

Quit Smoking!

That caught your eye, didn’t it! I’m just being honest with you here if you suffer from a low sex drive or erectile dysfunction your cigarettes may be the cause.

Hopefully reading this post has eased how you feel about men’s sexual health, giving you a little advice and make you feel like you can call your doctor for a chat if you’re suffering at all.
