So it has been absolute years since I shared an Outfit of the Day, but I thought I’d make an exception for my hen do outfits as I loved them all so much! I also tried to do my best to but things that I would wear again so I wasn’t being wasteful. The items that I won’t be using again will be sold on Vinted so another lucky bride to be can use them.
Friends Hen Do; Day 1
So day 1 of my friends hen do was a quick shop at Costco, a dive into Aldi and then on the road to the wonder Essex Stays at the Kings Head in Chelmsford. For those activities I wanted to be comfortable so I opted for a personalised Future Mrs. Hubert – Squibb ‘In My Engaged Era’ t-shirt from Callie Gifts that’s far better quality than I ever imagined, even after a few washes as I’ve worn it to wedding dress fittings since to get my use out of it! I’ll use it to sleep in once the wedding is over as it’s so soft.
I grabbed some high-waisted sport leggings from SheIn, and these are some of the best leggings I’ve ever bought! They have been worn numerous times already, to the gym and for chilling out at home in so I’m certainly getting use out of them. I already had the little white socks as I wear them with my Dr.Marten’s but they were from TikTok shop earlier this year. My trainers are your classic Nike Dunks.
Friends Hen Do; Day 2
This was the most fun day, we all had breakfast together in our pyjama’s then used the Dressing Room at the house to all do our hair and make up together which was so cute! We then got ready to head into Chelmsford to take on Turtle Bay’s Bottomless Brunch and some games at Boom Battle Bar.
I tried dress after dress, after dress, after dress as I’m not someone who feels happy wearing white and I finally found this White and Pink Embroidered Smock Dress, that will 100% be worn again in the summer on Simply Be. It’s one of their own brand dresses and it’s really high quality.
Family Hen Do
I also had a second hen do for my family and family friends that didn’t come along to the other hen do. I hired a local venue, and obviously had to have another outfit!
This time I wore the Mango Shirly Broiderie Anglaise Mini Shirt Dress, again bought from Simply Be and I loved that it was more ivory than white as I feel I suit this a little better. I didn’t like the belt that came with the dress so I got rid of that and swapped in for a cow print one that my mum already owned. I wore the same hat, boots and sash as the first hen do to make sure I got the wear out of them.
The Accessories
I bought this awesome homemade hat from Vinted, and I am so sad that I don’t get to wear it again! It really caught my eye with the ‘BRIDE’ being in colours rather than white like most that I had seen. I paid a crazy £8 for it and it’s even got a bow with a mini veil attached on the back! This will be going back on Vinted so another lucky lady can get to wear it.
After spending hours and hours on Vinted looking for second-hand white cowboy boots and failing as I have such little feet (a size 3!), I began to look on mainstream websites which also failed me as I felt the boots all made my feet look too big! I found the ones I ended up wearing on Temu and they’re so comfy. I’m currently weighing up selling them on or keeping them for a guest appearance at the wedding!
My friend Rach very kindly bought me the earrings I wore to both hen dos (and will continue to wear) from her most recent trip to Nashville. She also got herself a matching pink pair!
One of my lovely bridesmaids, Lizi, made all the hens super cute bracelets just like my name on here. I also got a couple of extras that were very on brand for the hen do too!
And the same bridesmaid, Lizi, also made me this super cool jacket. I love it so much and know the amount of hours she put into for me which makes it even more special <3
And with me being how I am about my nails, I just had to have cowboy-themed ones! Lynsey, who does my nails, was so patient with this set as I had this great idea of buying nail stickers to make her job easier and it really didn’t! They were so tough to keep stuck down, so I’m sorry Lyns, but they did look bloody awesome!
