You have bought a house, fantastic! We’re super happy for you, because this is going to be a fresh beginning for you, and your family if you have got one. But, what do you do now? Finding the home for you, securing it, and getting all the paperwork done might have felt like the end of the process, but it’s not, because now you need to actually move.

So, how can you do this, while eliminating as much of the stress as possible, but also ensuring that you’re getting everything sorted? We’re glad you asked, because that’s what we’re going to be looking at. Keep reading if you’re interested in learning more.

Packing Up Your Home

You need to think about how you’re going to be packing up your home. If you were one step ahead, you will have already started doing this while you were looking for your new property, starting with things that you don’t really use that often. But, if you haven’t done this, then that’s where you should start.

Make sure that when you are packing up, you are clearly labeling boxes with what room they should be in, and if you want to be more specific, include a list of what is in them. This makes things easier to find during the moving process if you need them, and makes it easier when you’re unpacking in your new home.

Moving From A To B

The next thing that you’re going to need to do is actually get from A (your current home), to B (your new home). It’s a lot to try and do this yourself, so your best bet is going to be to hire a team of removalists to assist you. Make sure that you do your research and choose a team that is able to offer you exactly what you need, whether that’s help loading and unloading the van as well as heavy items, or whether you want a full service team who help you pack up as well.

Deep Clean Both Properties

Lastly, when you have your move out dates it is important that you arrange to thoroughly clean both of your properties. This includes the ones you are leaving and the one you are moving into. If you don’t have the time to do this yourself then you can always hire a cleaning crew to do this for you, read reviews before you hire one.

You can do this yourself, just make sure that you don’t leave your current property a state. There is nothing worse than leaving your house a mess and someone else having to deal with it.

We hope this helps you understand some of the key steps that you should take to make sure that you are making the most of your new home. Be aware that buyer’s remorse or buyer’s blues are very real. After you have bought your home you can feel as though you have made a massive mistake. The best way to avoid this is to make sure that you are changing your home in brilliant ways.
